This training workshop has been specially designed by our experienced organisational psychologists to cover the basics of psychometric testing in a day. The Introduction to Psychometric Tests course aims to answer many of the questions that those new to psychometric tests have in an accessible and economical way. It is essentially free as we only charge participants our costs (i.e., the hotel delegate rate along with materials etc.).

The Introduction to Psychometrics Workshop expands on PsyAsia's expertise in Psychometric Training in Asia by offering a course geared to those with very little experience or understanding in Psychometrics. Many first time clients don't understand why they need to be careful in their choice or use of psychometrics and many do not understand why training is a necessity in competent test use.

This one-day course aims to provide experienced-based training in an accessible and economical way. The course is easy to understand and yet covers many of the important issues to be aware of when choosing and using psychometric tests. Given our passion for Asia and our passion for the competent use of psychometric tests in Asia, PsyAsia makes no profit on this course. We charge delegates a small fee that reflects the cost of the hotel venue (including buffet lunch and refreshments) where the training is held as well as materials that we provide to the delegates. What's more, if you later decide to attend one of our accreditation courses in Psychometrics, we will issue you with a discount code that reduces your course fee by the amount you paid for this course!

Note: During the workshop, delegates will create quasi-psychometric tests in groups to enable a hands-on exploration of issues such as reliability, error and validity in psychometric tests.

 
 
Have an understanding about the need for good practice in the use of psychometric tests
Understand the concept of reliability in psychometric tests
Understand the concept of validity in psychometric tests
Understand about error in the psychometric testing process
Consider important issues in choosing the right test, publisher or distributor
See a range of psychometric tests and understand how they are used
Have a number of questions ready to ask of any test publisher
Understand why competent training is essential if psychometric tests are to be used properly
Discuss their own specific issues/questions with an expert organisational psychologist
 
 

The course is for those who do not have a qualification or background in psychometric tests and who are interested in learning more but without some of the complexities that may apply to higher level training in psychometrics. The course does not qualify participants in psychometric testing. Instead it provides an overview of the field in an easy to understand and practical way. Participants will be made aware of what to look for in psychometric tests on the market and what questions to ask distributors and publishers, they will have exposure to a range of tests and have an understanding of how psychometric tests are developed and used. Delegates will also be made aware of the pitfalls in psychometrics and the practices of less reputable providers of psychometric tests. Should delegates decide to attend further training in Psychometric Tests with us within 6 months, we will fully refund the small fee paid for this course.

Please note that if you are already registered for our Psychometric Assessment at Work Level A and B training course you will not be accepted for registration on this course.

 
 
This training course is always run by experts in psychometric tests, organisational psychologists. Our psychologists have at least an MSc level of education specifically in organisational psychology in addition to the British Psychological Society's Level A and B Certificates of Competence in Occupational Testing. You can be certain that you are getting relevant, competent and trustworthy training and advice from people who not only know their field but are passionate about it.
 

*Delegates are charged only our costs (i.e., hotel delegate rate which includes buffet lunch and refreshments; materials etc.). Even still, if delegates register on one of our qualification courses in psychometrics within 6 months of attending this course, we will refund even the fee you paid for costs!

For this reason, our syllabus is subject to change. However, you can of course rest assured that we do not bring you a static course, rather a course that evolves with the Asian and international business and human resource management environments.

 

All delegates will receive
a full buffet lunch, refreshments during the day, course handouts and a certificate of attendance signed by a registered organisational psychologist.
